Gllu x Malàkio is the meeting of two brands that share a love for sustainable design, through craftsmanship and French manufacturing. And what could be more French than bistros and their iconic tables? Michel is a simple, original, timeless bistro table made in France, between Normandy and Brittany. We worked together to combine our two expertises and our two materials to create a simple and timeless table, in our image!


 

The tabletop is made from upcycled shells, in Malàkio's workshop. The base is made of solid Norman chestnut, in Gllu's workshop. Gllu x Malàkio is the land and the sea, wood and shell. It's the Norman forests and the Breton beaches... Together, we wanted to enhance our expertise by co-creating a handcrafted and French piece. It's also an opportunity to bury that good old Brittany/Normandy rivalry by creating a bistro table with the symbolic name Michel (a nod to Mont-Saint-Michel).


 

Each piece created is unique; the possible presence of very slight irregularities is normal and not a defect, as it is due to manual manufacturing. This is also what gives this creation its charm!

Material Properties

  • Contains an average of 60% recycled shells.
  • Contains no chemical additives.
  • Emits no VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
  • Is resistant to wide temperature variations (heat and cold).
  • Has a very low manufacturing carbon footprint.
  • Is fire retardant.
  • Is strong and durable.
  • Should not be immersed or in prolonged contact with water or other liquids.
  • Not dishwasher safe.

Delivery or in-store pickup

Delivery on Malàkio is a priority. We do everything we can to offer you the best possible experience.

Delivery fees range from €4.90 to €7.90. They are custom-calculated for your order based on several criteria (products, volume, fragility, weight, delivery location, etc.) to ensure you benefit from the best rate under the best conditions. You can view the delivery fees for your order on your order page.

You can also pick up your order directly from our workshop located at 44 rue de Pont Aven 44300 Nantes. Pick-up is by appointment, Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The pick-up option is offered on the order page.
